Memphis Depay is not expected to report back to Corinthians in the final days of his contract unless a renewal is agreed, which currently runs to 31 July.
According to Meu Timao, the 32-year-old is on leave after the World Cup, with all players granted 25 days off and no firm return date set.
The club view is that reporting in so close to expiry makes little sense, and a return would be likeliest only with progress in renewal talks.
Three league games fall before his deal ends, against Remo on 23, Bahia on 26 and Athletico-PR on 30. He could play only once his registration is regularised with the FPF, where his contract had mistakenly appeared to end in June.
Corinthians tabled a proposal in early June without external partners, which was rejected. It involved a wage reduction, a revised pay structure and instalments on outstanding bonuses, currently estimated at R$ 43 million.
Talks are described as tense amid that liability, yet the player is willing to remain at Parque São Jorge.
Depay joined in September 2024 on a free and has played 79 games, scoring 20 with 15 assists. He has won the 2025 Copa do Brasil, the 2025 Campeonato Paulista and the 2026 Supercopa.
In 2026 he missed two months with a right thigh injury and has featured 14 times, scoring once and assisting once. At the World Cup he was a substitute in four matches, totalling 70 minutes and one assist.
