Memphis returns as Corinthians name strongest XI to face Platense in Libertadores | OneFootball

Corinthians have named a full-strength side to face Platense at Neo Química Arena at 21:30 on Wednesday. According to Meu Timao, Fernando Diniz has included Memphis Depay from the start for the sixth and final group match.

The XI is Hugo Souza in goal, a back four of Matheuzinho, Gabriel Paulista, Gustavo Henrique and Matheus Bidu, midfielders Raniele, Allan, Breno Bidon and Rodrigo Garro, with Memphis Depay partnering Yuri Alberto up front.

The bench offers 12 options for the five changes permitted, including Kauê, André Ramalho, Fabrizio Angileri, Pedro Milans, André Luiz, Matheus Pereira, Zakaria Labyad, Dieguinho, Kaio César, Jesse Lingard and Pedro Raul.

Walter Zunino’s Platense start Borgogno in goal, with defenders Augustín Lagos, Ignacio Vásquez, Victor Cuesta and Tomás Silva. Martin Barrios, Juan Gauto, Ivan Gómez, Maximiliano Amarfil and Franco Zapiola are in midfield, with Nicolás Retamar up front.

The headline change is Memphis, back in the XI after more than two months out with a thigh injury. He returned as a substitute in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Atlético-MG.

Already into the last 16 and assured of top spot in Group E, Corinthians now chase a win to improve their overall seeding.
