Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, captain of Inter Miami, offered his full support and encouragement to the Argentina U20 squad after their defeat in the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup final against Morocco.

Messi supports Argentina U20 after the lost final

Immediately after the final whistle, Messi was quick to react on his official Instagram account, sending a message of encouragement to the young Albiceleste.

Leo posted a story message in which he said:

For their part, Morocco's U20 team clinched a historic title by defeating Argentina 2-0 at the Julio Martínez Prádanos Stadium in Santiago, Chile. Yassir Zabiri was the hero with a brace: a superb direct free-kick in the 12th minute, followed by a second goal in the 29th, sealing this historic triumph for his team.

With this victory, Morocco becomes only the second African nation to win the FIFA U20 World Cup trophy, following Ghana, who claimed the 2009 edition in Egypt after a penalty shootout against Brazil.
