Metro do Porto extends service and closures for FC Porto title party at Aliados

FC Porto will celebrate their national title on Saturday, 16 May, with a programme ending at the traditional City Hall reception on Avenida dos Aliados. The party follows the match against Santa Clara at 15h30 at Estádio do Dragão, and Metro do Porto will mount a special operation for the expected crowds.

According to O Jogo, reinforcement starts at 13h00, with the Green Line (C) extended to Estádio do Dragão. After the game, services will centre on Trindade, the closest station to the festivities, with trains every four minutes until 20h00.

For safety reasons, Aliados station will close from 17h30 and São Bento from 21h30.

Before reaching Aliados, the team will travel by boat to Ribeira, with fireworks planned on the Ponte Luiz I. Pedestrian access on the upper deck will be shut from 18h30 to 22h30. The Yellow Line (D) will be limited between 21h30 and 22h00, running in two sections, Hospital São João-Trindade and Jardim do Morro-Vila d"Este.

The reception at the Paços do Concelho and the balcony salute to supporters are expected to keep celebrations going into the night. Metro do Porto will extend operations until 03h00, with final departures leaving after 02h00.
