RABAT, Morocco — The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Morocco 2025 continued as Mexico fell 1-nil to the Netherlands in the Semifinals on Wednesday at the Olympic Stadium of Rabat in Rabat, Morocco.

The defensive lines of both nations held strong to deliver a goalless draw through the first half.

Lina Touzani struck the lone goal of the encounter in the 69’ to award the victory to the Netherlands. Citlalli Reyes had six attempts at goal for Mexico in an attempt to equalize.

Valentina Murrieta was once again the key player for Mexico, making six saves to reach 31 total in the tournament, the highest for any Concacaf goalkeeper.

The teams crossed paths for the second time in the 2025 edition. Mexico won the previous meeting, 1-nil, in the Group Stage.

Mexico will conclude its campaign against Brazil in the Third Place Match on Saturday.

● Citlalli Reyes finished as Mexico’s top shooter at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2025, with 16 total attempts. In the semifinal against the Netherlands, she led El Tri in that category with four shots, tied with Joselyn Solís.

● Joselyn Solís was the most fouled Mexican player in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2025, suffering 16 fouls — seven of them in the final third (1st overall). She was also the Mexican player who won the most duels in the tournament (51).
