Michael Olise finishes World Cup’s leading provider with seven, ahead of Messi and Mbappé | OneFootball

The World Cup concluded on Sunday following the final between Argentina and Spain. According to L'Équipe, Michael Olise finished as the tournament’s leading provider with seven assists on his debut, with France ending fourth.

It serves as a small consolation for the France playmaker, who departs the 2026 tournament with an individual honour.

Olise topped the chart ahead of five players on four, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, Bruno Guimaraes, Martin Ödegaard and Brahim Diaz.

He also set a new mark, surpassing Pelé’s six from 1970, though he played two more matches.

The Bayern player and former Crystal Palace man began strongly with three in the group stage, opening his tally against Senegal for Mbappé, then adding two versus Iraq, one for Mbappé and one for Dembélé. He produced another brace in the round of 16 against Sweden, for Barcola and Mbappé, and finished with two more in the third-place play-off against England, both for Mbappé.
