It followed a fantastic period for the Barclays Women’s Super League’s all-time top goalscorer where she netted three goals and registered one assist across three outings.

Miedema began the month by teeing up Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw ahead of half-time before the Jamaican coolly dispatched our second in a memorable 5-1 victory over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

After Kerolin completed her hat-trick shortly after the interval, the Netherlands international rounded off the scoring over the reigning champions with 18 minutes remaining.

A narrow 1-0 loss to Arsenal followed but City responded perfectly in our next assignment – beating Leicester 6-0 at the Joie Stadium.

Miedema was crucial to that success, scoring twice before the interval with a trademark finish from the edge of the box before heading home a Lauren Hemp cross.
