According to Superdeporte, Valencia have dismissed Miguel Ángel Angulo as Mestalla head coach after five seasons. The side were fighting to avoid relegation and draws had become frequent, yet his legacy is substantial in competition and development.

With him in charge, the team left the Tercera RFEF swiftly and decisively. They then settled in Segunda RFEF and even flirted with promotion to Primera RFEF.

In two of his three full seasons in Segunda RFEF they nearly went up, finishing third in one campaign and playing the play-off, sixth in another. In the other he kept them safe comfortably, and across 130 matches his average is 1.44 points.

This season they were in the thick of the fight with six wins, 14 draws and eight defeats. That came while the first team repeatedly called up his best youngsters to play or simply fill squads amid absences.

In development terms his work was close to flawless. The Quinta del Pipo, who helped save the club from relegation in one of the worst seasons, matured under his guidance, with Cristhian Mosquera, Yarek Gasiorowski, Javi Guerra, Diego López and Fran Pérez shaped by him.

He smoothed the Juvenil-Mestalla-first team pathway, backing División de Honor talent such as Rubi Muñoz and Lucas Núñez last year. He consistently adapted to player losses and minute-management requests from the first team.

This campaign also saw the breakout of prospects like Víctor Jr. and Marc Jurado.
