Santos beat Vitória 3-1 at Vila Belmiro to climb out of the Brasileirão relegation zone. Miguelito scored and provided for Gabigol, whose childish gesture almost marred the result.
According to Diario Do Peixe, Miguelito ran the game and received the top mark, while Gabriel Barbosa, despite scoring, got the lowest for that moment. Goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão made three fine saves that protected the scoreline.
Igor Vinícius struggled before the break and looked short of full fitness. Lucas Veríssimo was off the pace early but much better after half-time. Luan Peres had mixed moments, and João Ananias came on to deal with crosses well.
Willian Arão organised but could not shield the box, Christian Oliva looked leggy, and Samuel Pierri endured a difficult outing. Barreal struck a stunning goal, Rollheiser helped Santos keep the ball, and Gabriel Bontempo featured in the move for the third.
Cuca’s team worked well in the first half, then a second-half dismissal and a thin bench invited Vitória forward. Santos held on to close out the win.
