Giovanni Galeone says that Milan and Napoli have the ‘best midfield’ in Serie A as he feels Luka Modric is ‘perfect’ for the Rossoneri.

Ex-Serie A coach Galeone, a close friend of Allegri and the man who’s seen as the Tuscan tactician’s mentor, feels that Milan and Napoli have the best midfield department in Serie A.

“I would have liked to see Allegri at Milan a year ago already, in Fonseca’s place, but I’ll say that with Rabiot’s arrival, this is the strongest midfield, along with Napoli’s. Modric is perfect for this Milan,” Galeone told Il Messaggero Veneto via TMW.

“Fofana, Loftus-Cheek, and Modric provide guarantees. I have some doubts about the defence, even in the second half against Bologna, it was solid and didn’t commit the same mistakes as against Cremonese.”

Milan made some big changes in the middle of the park during the summer transfer window, selling Tijjani Reijnders and Yunus Musah and signing Ardon Jasari, Samuele Ricci, Modric and Adrien Rabiot.

The latter reunited with his former coach Allegri by completing a permanent transfer from Marseille on deadline day.

Napoli, on the other hand, signed Kevin De Bruyne as a free agent, adding the Belgian ace to the title-winning midfield composed of Scott McTominay, Franck Anguissa and Stanislav Lobotka.
