Milan cruise to Coppa Italia first round win against Bari | OneFootball

Rafael Leão and Christian Pulisic were on target to lead Milan to a comfortable Coppa Italia first-round victory against Serie B side Bari.

Milan made a bright start and Youssouf Fofana's early strike from inside the area was saved by Bari goalkeeper Michele Cerofolini.

The Rossoneri took the lead through Rafael Leão, who met Fikayo Tomori's cross with a well-placed header from inside the six-yard area.

Christian Pulisic almost added a second for Milan with a powerful strike that cannoned off the crossbar.

Santiago Giménez thought he'd doubled the hosts' lead just before half time by slotting in from Pervis Estupiñán's shot, but the attempt was ruled out for offside.

Milan made another fast start in the second period when Pulisic played a one-two with Giménez inside the area before striking low into the net past Cerofolini.

Luka Modrić almost got on the scoresheet during his Milan debut after weaving space for a shot, but the debutant's attempt was straight at Cerofolini.

Massimiliano Allegri's side saw out a routine Coppa Italia first-round win over Bari and the Rossoneri will hope to reach a second consecutive final after falling to a 1-0 loss against Bologna in the 2024/25 edition in May.
