Milan in talks for Argentinean talent with €41m clause – report | OneFootball

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan have opened preliminary talks for River Plate talent Franco Mastantuono, who has a €41m clause, and several other suitors.

Milan are interested in Argentinean talent Franco Mastantuono, according to a fresh Gazzetta dello Sport report.

The pink paper claims that Milan director and Chief Scout Geoffrey Moncada has been monitoring the 17-year-old for a long time.

Mastantuono will turn 18 in August 2025 and is among the most promising Argentinean players.

An attacking midfielder who can also play as a right winger, Mastantuono signed a contract extension until 2026 at the start of the year. The new deal includes a $45m clause, slightly more than €41m.

It is unlikely that Milan will offer as much, but according to Gazzetta, the Rossoneri have already learned that River are open to splitting the payment into two instalments.

Talks between all the parties interested will continue in the coming months. One key for Milan to persuade River and beat the competition could be to allow Mastantuono to stay at his club until 2026, when he’ll be 19.

There were rumours that Real Madrid had already reached a principle of agreement for the Argentinean talent, but both River and Mastantuono’s representatives have denied so, which means Milan hopes are still alive.
