As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan are making progress in their negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain over Portuguese forward Gonçalo Ramos.

The 25-year-old has remained but a bit-part player in the French capital ever since his €65m move from Benfica three summers ago. Now, having lifted back-to-back Champions League titles, he’s looking for a move for more game time, and Jorge Mendes is on the case.

PSG are asking a fee in the region of €45 million to let Ramos go. Milan haven’t yet matched the number, but they are expected to, with Ramos demanding a contract worth over €4 million a year.

Ramos is no stranger to new Rossoneri boss Ruben Amorim, who saw the striker lead Benfica to the Primeira Liga title during his time as Sporting boss.

A massive moment for the Portuguese duo

Ruben Amorim has a point to prove at San Siro; if he joins, so will Gonçalo Ramos.

One of Portugal’s brightest young attacking prospects in recent years has only shown glimpses of his talent at the Parc des Princes. At Milan, the floor will be his, especially after the end of the season the club endured last time out, and even more so after the kind of exodus they are anticipating in their frontline.

Ramos’ compatriot Rafa Leão may end up generating the funds needed to bring the former to Milan, who will find ample opportunities to show he is ready to be the main man for a Champions League-regular team.
