Conor Chaplin and Alex McCarthy missed Leicester City’s open training on Friday. LeicesterMercury.co.uk understands both are carrying minor knocks.

The session at the King Power Stadium was the last before Saturday’s pre-season meeting with Genoa.

New arrival Liam Cullen, confirmed shortly before the workout, trained with his new team-mates after completing a move from Swansea City.

Christian McFarlane also linked up following a loan from Manchester City, and both are set to feature for the first time against Genoa.

Will Alves, who has impressed this summer, skipped the main drills and worked individually with coaching staff.

City conclude pre-season against Genoa on Saturday night, then face Northampton Town in the Carabao Cup first round next weekend.

Their League One campaign begins in two weeks at Notts County, a 12.30pm kick-off live on Sky Sports.
