According to Globo.com, Mirassol are close to signing Santos striker Tiquinho Soares on loan to the end of 2026, with Santos paying part of his wages.

Standing 1.87 metres, Tiquinho came through at América-RN before spells in Brazil and a move to Portugal with Nacional, Vitória de Guimarães and Porto.

At Porto he had his most successful spell, scoring 64 goals in five seasons and lifting five trophies. They included Portuguese league titles in 2017/18 and 2019/20, the Taça de Portugal in 2019/20 and the Supertaça de Portugal in 2018.

After Portugal he joined Tianjin Tiger in 2020, then moved to Olympiacos in 2021 and won the Greek title. Later that year he returned to Brazil with Botafogo, totalling 44 goals and 17 assists across two seasons and winning the Campeonato Brasileiro and the 2024 Libertadores.

He joined Santos in 2025, making 40 appearances with seven goals and seven assists. He has not featured in 2026, his last outing was on 7 December in a 3-0 win over Cruzeiro in the final round of the Brasileirão.

If sealed, his arrival would add to options up front, among them Nathan Fogaça, André Luis, Renato Marques and Rodrigo Rodrigues, with Edson Carioca also able to play centrally. André Luis and Renato Marques are currently injured. In 2026, Mirassol are competing in the Paulistão, Libertadores, Brasileirão and Copa do Brasil.
