Mirassol v Cruzeiro ended 2-2 but entered Brasileirão history for its officiating, as four on-field calls were overturned after VAR reviews. According to Globo.com, it is the first league game to register four changes via the technology.

The previous high was three in a single match, a mark reached in 32 fixtures since VAR was introduced in 2019. Video assistant referee Paulo Renato Moreira da Silva Coelho intervened three times in favour of Cruzeiro and once for Mirassol.

A Nathan Fogaça strike was confirmed after review. A Galeano goal was disallowed for offside.

A penalty was awarded for a foul by Igor Cariús on Matheus Pereira. Yuri Lara received a red card for a violent challenge on Kaique Kenji.

At full time, Mirassol players and staff confronted referee Bráulio da Silva Machado, with head coach Rafael Guanaes needing to be restrained by security. Police then escorted the match officials from the pitch.

Full-back Reinaldo criticised the referee, alleging attempts to end Mirassol’s home unbeaten run and referencing remarks from the Pernambuco FA president that questioned the club’s top-flight presence. He also complained of inconsistent VAR use, but noted Mirassol stayed unbeaten at the Maião.
