MLS give Suárez further three-game suspension | OneFootball

Luis Suárez has been handed a three-game ban by the MLS after a spitting incident at the end of the match against the Seattle Sounders.

In the final of the Leagues Cup, the veteran forward lost his temper and spat at a member of the opposing team's staff. This act of unsportsmanlike conduct led the former Barcelona player to be suspended for six games, a sanction that affects him only in matches of the respective competition.

Nonetheless, Suárez was also suspended for three domestic games, meaning he will be unavailable for Inter Miami over the coming weeks.

As a result, the club's second-highest scorer will miss the clashes against Charlotte FC, another game against Seattle Sounders, and DC United.

In addition to Luis Suárez, former Barcelona player Sergio Busquets was also involved in a post-game tension, having punched an opposing player after the final whistle. This action resulted in the responsible body punishing the experienced midfielder for two games.

Inter Miami are currently sixth in the MLS Eastern Conference, with 13 wins, seven draws, and five losses in 25 matches.
