CF Montréal vs Inter Miami face off today at Stade Saputo in a match valid for the 12th round of the North American league.
The teams take the field on Saturday night, May 11, at 8:30 p.m. (Brasília time), at Stade Saputo in Montreal – Quebec, Canada, for the 12th round of Major League Soccer. The game will be broadcast on Apple TV and MLS Season Pass.
The match brings together two clubs in different situations in the Eastern Conference table. The hosts are in twelfth place with 12 points, two behind the playoff elimination zone. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi and Company are having the best start to the season in their history, with seven wins, three draws, and only two losses. They are the sole leaders with 24 points, three more than the second-placed team.
In the last round, the Canadians suffered a 4-1 defeat away from home to Nashville SC, while the Pink Shirts defeated NY Red Bulls in Miami 6-2, one of the biggest wins so far.
In the history of their encounters, nine games have been played, and what stands out is the northern team’s superiority, with six victories against only two for the Herons, in addition to another draw. Last season, in the last match played, Montréal won at home by a score of 1-0.
Another curiosity is that 25 goals have been scored since the first match, 15 by the home team and 10 by Miami.
In last week’s rout against NY Red Bulls, the team’s striker and number 9, Luis Suárez, reached the milestone of 500 goals by scoring a hat-trick in the match, to be more precise, 501.
