Mohamed Salah has dropped a bombshell with the announcement that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.
The Egyptian legend's current contract is due to expire in the summer of 2027 but he will depart a year early.
"The day has come. This is the first part of my farewell," a tearful Salah stated in an emotional video posted to his social media accounts.
"I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season. I never imagined how deeply this club, city and people would become part of my life. It isn't just a football club: it is a history, a passion, a spirit.
"I want to thank everyone who was part of the club throughout my time here. I don't have enough words.
"Leaving is never easy You've given me the best time of my life. This club will always be my home. Because of all of you, I will never walk alone."
Salah joined the Reds from Roma in 2017 and has gone on to win almost every major honour available at Anfield and scored over 250 goals in the process and will leave a Liverpool legend.
