Moises Caicedo’s stats against Benfica last night once again shows why he is one of the best midfielders in the world right now.
Caicedo is actually one of the most consistent players I’ve seen play football in a long time. I don’t remember the last time he had a bad game and actually, it was probably one of his early games in a Chelsea shirt when he had just arrived and was finding his feet. Since then, he’s become colossal and one of the best overall midfielders in world football on recent form, without a doubt.
He was once again hugely important for Chelsea last night as they managed to grind out a 1-0 win over a Jose Mourinho managed Benfica last night at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League.
Chelsea took the lead in the first half after good work from Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho forced an own goal.
Garnacho said after the game that he was happy with the three points and to now be playing for Chelsea in this competition.

This man is the engine of Chelsea and without him, they wouldn’t be anywhere near as good. His form right now is just incredible, he is a superb player.
TNT Sports posted this on X last night after the Benfica game:
Moises Caicedo vs Benfica:
🥇 Most duels won – 10 🥇 Most final third entries – 9 🥇 Most tackles – 8 🥇 Joint-most chances created – 2 🥇 Joint-most interceptions – 2
One of the best midfielders in the world!
I think in terms of current form then Caicedo is up there with the top 3 centre midfielders in the world right now. The fact he is still young and will only get better, should be a very scary reality for our rivals.
