Momo Nakao: We want to make the fans proud on Sunday

Sunday will bring the Ghirls their third match within the space of a week as Celtic FC Women make the short trip to Petershill.

Partick Thistle are the opponents for Grant Scott’s side, who will be looking to round off the week by picking up all three points.

Having come off the back of two 1-1 draws against Hibernian and Glasgow City, it has been a busy week of action for the Hoops.

It could be said that in both games Celtic were unfortunate not to come away with all three, particularly on Wednesday evening against the league leaders.

That is a feeling which is echoed by Momo Nakao, who was part of the side who put in a strong performance at New Douglas Park.

And now heading into their next game, the Japanese midfielder feels there are plenty of positives to take as she assessed the challenge ahead against Partick Thistle.

She said: “After the game, we felt a little bit of disappointment because we feel like we could have taken the three points.

“But at the same time, I think we proved that we are capable competing against top teams.

‘So, these were very positive things that we can look to take away and build on.’

“We expect Partick Thistle to bring everything that they have in the game. It’s going to be a tough game.

“But I believe that if we bring everything that we have and maximise our individual strengths, I think we can get a good result and make the fans proud."
