AS Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir (20) is being heavily linked with a move to Bayer Leverkusen, with L’Équipe reporting that talks between the two clubs are advancing positively.
The Morocco international, who featured in Monaco’s Ligue 1 opener last weekend, was present in Friday’s training session, attended by Get French Football News.
With the transfer window still open, Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro was present alongside Adi Hütter in the pre-match press conference, ahead of Sunday’s match against Lille OSC. He did not wish to specifically address rumours about Ben Seghir’s future. “I don’t know what will happen,” said Scuro.
He did, nonetheless, state that the coming days could be busy, with Monaco looking to decrease their squad size. “We are working on some situations […] it is a transfer window where lots will happen in the coming days; it was quiet at the beginning. Now it is starting to move. It looks like it will be busy,” said Scuro.
As well as Ben Seghir, heavily linked with a €35m move to Bayer Leverkusen, players such as Breel Embolo and Krépin Diatta are also linked with exits.
