Brahim Diaz has been mentioned as a possible signing for AC Milan in January, having dropped down the pecking order at Real Madrid. However, as per Matteo Moretto, there is no chance of the Spaniard returning to the Rossoneri.

The attacking midfielder spent three years at the club, between 2020 and 2023, and became a rather likeable player among the fans in the end. Real Madrid decided to bring him back and last season, he bagged 12 goals in 44 games for the club.

This season has been tougher for Diaz, also due to an injury, and Gazzetta dello Sport reported this morning that Milan are keeping tabs. When asked about these rumours on X, Matteo Moretto – who is an expert on the Rossoneri and above all Spanish football – simply replied ‘No’.

In other words, there is no chance that the midfielder will return to Milan in January. The Rossoneri clearly have other priorities, such as a defensive midfield, and it would really be a ‘luxury’ signing for Paulo Fonseca – which is something you don’t tend to do in January.

It should also be added that Christian Pulisic has played more in the No.10 lately, while Fonseca also has opted for a three-man midfield in many games.
