Which Newcastle United player would you describe as the ‘most overrated’ in the current squad?

A new report has looked at all 20 Premier League clubs and named the player at each one, who they assess as fitting that criteria.

Well, put it this way, if as NUFC fans you had to list the ten most overrated Newcastle United players, I would be stunned if any of you named the player this report has claimed should have that title.

Newcastle United: Sandro Tonali

“I would probably choose Tonali at this point,” said Paul Scholes when asked who’s currently the Premier League’s best midfielder. Not even the best midfielder at his club, mate.

My thoughts

I don’t always agree with Paul Scholes but on this occasion he absolutely nailed it.

Far from being the ‘most overrated’ Newcastle United player, Sandro Tonali is indeed, not just Newcastle’s best midfielder (and player), he is right up there as the best in the Premier League.

Bruno Guimaraes is a class act for Newcastle United and Joelinton is so influential when playing as he can, but Sandro Tonali has just been another level ever since his suspension ended 15 months ago.
