MW25 RSL Fantasy Scouting Session: Picks to consider to rack up points!

Matchweek 25 brings one of the most anticipated fixtures of the Roshn Saudi League season as Al Ahli and Al Ittihad meet in the Sea Derby. It’s a high-stakes encounter not only for the clubs and fans, but also for managers in RSL Fantasy.

Since cross-city clashes can be unpredictable, Fantasy managers should approach with caution selections from both Jeddah giants.

It’s worth noting that on-fire Ivan Toney currently sits second in the overall standings, with 233 points, among the 502 players who have scored points so far this season. Meanwhile, Al Ittihad's Danilo Pereira led the Matchweek 24 All-Star Team after delivering 20 points in his winner against Al Khaleej.

With that in mind, here’s our recommendations for Matchweek 25, laid out nicely in a first XI, all while sticking to a budget of SAR 80 million.

Goalkeeper

Yassine Bono - Al Hilal (5.0 million)

The Morocco star is one of three Al Hilal players in our suggested team this week. The title contenders host bottom club Al Najmah, as they attempt to reclaim the top spot they relinquished across the past three rounds.

Al Hilal have also supplied the most players in the Fantasy All-Star Team this term, with an impressive 15 selections across all rounds.

--------

Saad Belobaid - Al Shabab (4.5m)

Few would have predicted that Belobaid’s loan move from Al Ahli last summer would lead to him becoming his new club’s most reliable Fantasy defender.

The Saudi Arabian has already accumulated 117 points, ranking as the second-best Al Shabab player in the game behind RSL Player of the Month Yannick Carrasco, and has contributed to five goals, including four in his past three matches.

Kalidou Koulibaly - Al Hilal (6.2m)

The Senegal captain returned from 2025 Africa Cup of Nations glory understandably full of confidence and has delivered consistent Fantasy returns since.

Across the six matches since the success in Morocco, Koulibaly has never recorded fewer than six points. Even in the recent 5-3 win at Al Shabab, when Al Hilal conceded all those goals, he still made an impact by netting the opener.

Mohamed Simakan - Al Nassr (5.8m)

While Koulibaly has averaged around 8 points per match in the past six rounds, Simakan has been even more productive, averaging 9 points per game during the same period.

The French defender has conceded only one goal in eight appearances and will look to maintain that defensive form when leaders Al Nassr host NEOM Sports Club in Riyadh.

Midfield

Julian Quinones - Al Qadsiah (10.5m)

With 10 rounds remaining, the Al Qadsiah sharpshooter is currently the only player projected to surpass 350 Fantasy points by the end of the season, based on his scoring average.

The Fantasy leader, well in the hunt for the 2025-26 RSL golden boot, and title outsiders Al Qadsiah kick off Matchweek 25 against 14th-placed Al Kholood, offering another opportunity to extend his lead.

Yannick Carrasco - Al Shabab (7.5m)

February’s main man continues to influence matches even when his team weren’t performing as well.

Despite inconsistent results for Al Shabab, Carrasco has remained among the top Fantasy performers, with only six players currently ranked above him.

With new manager Noureddine Ben Zekri in charge, the 2011-12 champions have scored three goals in each of their past three matches, and their Belgian captain will again be central to their attacking threat at Al Ettifaq.

Salem Al Dawsari - Al Hilal (13m)

The RSL all-timer has missed six matches this term, which maybe explains his drop in the Fantasy rankings.

However, Al Dawsari’s earlier performance in the corresponding fixture against Al Najmah remains a strong harbinger of what could come in the return: the Al Hilal captain scored twice and provided an assist in a 4-2 comeback victory.

Sadio Mane - Al Nassr (10m)

In the RSL this season, only two players have played 10 or more matches without suffering a single defeat - and both hail from Al Nassr.

The most impressive record belongs to Mane, who has been involved in 17 consecutive league wins, while goalkeeper Bento follows with 11 unbeaten outings.

Since returning from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Mane has influenced every match he’s played, from forcing an own goal against Al Taawoun to scoring the goal that prompted the fightback in Matchweek 24’s 3-1 win at Al Fayha.

Fashion Sakala - Al Fayha (8.1m)

Al Fayha’s formidable Zambian recently joined the list of players with 10+ league goals this campaign.

The rebounding Al Majma’ah side travel to face second-from-bottom Al Okhdood, a fixture Sakala particularly enjoys: he has scored six goals in five matches against them.

Thus, that record makes the already in-form attacker a strong candidate to deliver again in Matchweek 25.

Yakou Meite - Damac (5.5m)

An early season injury delayed the summer signing’s impact, but he’s quickly made up for lost time with two goals in Damac’s huge comeback victory against Al Taawoun in Matchweek 22.

Meite has continued to trouble defences since, scoring again last round to seal what could prove a precious point at Al Fateh in the battle against relegation.

Despite this form, Meite remains selected by fewer than 1.5 percent of Fantasy managers, making him one of the most intriguing differential picks - especially in the massive survival clash at home to Al Riyadh.

Roger Martinez - Al Taawoun (7.4m)

Five players have already surpassed 200 Fantasy points this season, with Martínez sitting just behind them.

Al Taawoun host Al Fateh this week, where the Colombian striker will be aiming to deliver a decisive performance as his side look to respond after falling from second in the standings to sixth.

A strong showing could see Martinez break the 200-point barrier and close the gap on the top Fantasy performers.
