Nantes lost 0-1 to Angers in a pivotal survival contest. L'Équipe notes Ahmed Kantari's choices drew scrutiny as Hervé Koffi steadied the visitors.

Koffi, back in goal, calmed Angers with a smart stop to thwart Ganago on 21 minutes. Ousmane Camara was similarly assured at centre-back. Nantes offered little beyond a threatening Matthis Abline free-kick.

After the interval, Chidozie Awaziem wobbled on 50, then Amine Sbaï chest-controlled and finished right-footed on 52 from a corner he had won. He remained dangerous, nearly doubling the lead on 55, testing again on 57, then drawing a free-kick on 58.

Kantari waited until 65 for his first change, replacing Louis Leroux with Francis Coquelin. On 75 he withdrew Awaziem for Frédéric Guilbert and flipped to a 4-1-2-1-2, with Tabibou at left-back and Cozza inside. Nantes looked as if they could play all night without scoring.

Koffi was less tidy on a left-footed Nantes free-kick on 81, but saved another on 83 and then foiled Mostafa Mohamed after a Capelle deflection on 85. He was applauded by the travelling Angers fans. Sbaï made way for Mouton on 87.

In the ratings, Koffi, Camara and Sbaï scored 7, as did coach Alexandre Dujeux, whose organised side, with the smallest budget in Ligue 1, appear already safe with nine matches left. Kantari was given 2, while Awaziem, Abline and Leroux received 3.
