Friday was a day for injuries. Not only were Paris Saint-Germain duo Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué injured in France’s 2-0 win over Ukraine in Poland, their manager at club level, Luis Enrique, sustained a fractured collarbone after coming off his bike, PSG confirmed late in the evening.
He isn’t the only Ligue 1 manager to have sustained an injury on Friday. Luís Castro, who joined FC Nantes from USL Dunkerque over the summer, was also injured. The incident happened at Nantes’ training ground during the daytime on Friday. He was playing a game with his staff when he suffered a knee injury. The worst was initially feared.
As reported by Ouest-France, there had been fears that the Portuguese manager had suffered an ACL injury. However, the publication has since reported that they now believe that the Nantes manager has suffered a significant knee sprain.
