Matthis Abline, despite being FC Nantes’ most important player, has spent the start of the season playing a bit-part role. The France youth international has often come off the bench. It was a decision taken by Luís Castro amid intense interest in the centre-forward, who has suitors in France and abroad.
However, Abline ultimately remained at Nantes and now he is set to go back into the starting line-up for Saturday’s visit to the Allianz Riviera. Castro, injured himself over the international break, during a training ground game with staff, has a few absences to contend with.
Mathieu Acapandié, Fabien Centonze, and Herba Guirassy are all out. The latter was already struggling with fitness before being called up by France’s youth squad, where he suffered another injury setback, much to Castro’s frustration.
