Ex-Napoli striker Bruno Giordano praises coach Antonio Conte, calling him ‘a giant’ and is convinced the Partenopei will ‘strike fear into’ Inter in the Serie A title race.

Napoli grabbed one point in their latest meeting with Serie A leaders on Saturday, seeing January signing Philip Billing score a crucial late equaliser.

“Napoli are alive, strong, and a great team, and they proved it against Inter, playing a game of immense quality, just like a team that believes in something big would do,” Giordano told Gazzetta.

“It was the confirmation that Conte is a giant: he changes formations, shifts players around, gives you energy, makes you feel important, and keeps you in the title race. It will come down to the wire, but the scenarios are changing now.”

The 1987 Scudetto winner at Napoli feels the Partenopei will fight for the title until the very end of the campaign.

“They are in the race; they have the same chances as Atalanta, maybe even slightly more, and only a slightly lower percentage than Inter,” he argued.

“The Napoli we saw on Saturday will strike fear into the reigning champions, just as they did in the second half.”

The Partenopei haven’t won any Serie A match in the last five. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s sale in January surely affected the team, but Conte’s men remain just one point below Inter.

“A player with that kind of talent, strength, and unpredictability can change your life,” Giordano admitted.

“Kvaratskhelia would have been vital for any team. And, of course, I should also mention Osimhen. I really like Lukaku. He’s always there for his teammates and now they are waiting for Neres’ return from injury. He’s someone who can make a difference.”
