Napoli are set for pivotal talks with Manchester United for Alejandro Garnacho. The player has given his priority to them over Chelsea and other suitors, but there’s a significant gap between the offer and the request, Il Mattino reports (via Tuttomercatoweb).
The Azzurri and the Red Devils are €15/18M apart on his valuation. Antonio Conte has had a phone call with the attacker to explain his project. There are no issues on his personal terms.
If Napoli can’t come to terms with Manchester United on a straight deal for Garnacho, they could propose a swap with Victor Osimhen, who’s currently on loan at Galatasaray with slim chances of getting acquired permanently.
The Partenopei could agree to sell the marksman for less than his €75M release clause to nab the Argentine. On the other hand, the Red Devils would need to come to terms with the striker too. His €12M annual salary is large also for Premier League standards.
The two sides are also dueling for Patrick Dorgu. The English giants are attempting to purchase him now, while the Partenopei want to block him for the summer.
It’s a difficult pursuit, but the Azzurri haven’t missed out on many targets Conte really coveted, if any. They might go above and beyond to make their coach happy, and, after all, they are in good shape financially, and he’s super young. A trade with Osimhen has too many moving parts to come together in the short time left in the window.
