A swap involving Mario Gila and Lorenzo Lucca could be on the table, with Napoli and Lazio both open to talks.

Lazio have set an asking price of €25-30 million for Gila despite his deal expiring next year, due to Real Madrid’s 50% sell-on. According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, Napoli could try to cut the fee by offering players in exchange.

The report identifies Lucca as the most plausible makeweight, while Rafa Marin is to be retained and Sam Beukema does not plan to leave one year after his €33 million move from Bologna.

Lucca, a 201 cm striker who first broke through at Pisa, impressed at Udinese between 2023 and 2025. Napoli paid €35 million for him last summer, but he lost his place following Rasmus Hojlund’s arrival. He joined Nottingham Forest on loan in January and ended the season with three goals in 32 appearances.

Genoa have enquired about Lucca, yet Lazio have the upper hand thanks to their ongoing dialogue with Napoli over Gila. New head coach Gennaro Gattuso wants a centre-forward as a priority. He does not see Tijjani Noslin as a pure striker, Boulaye Dia struggled there last season, and Petar Ratkov is still adapting after his January move from RB Salzburg.
