Braga beat Moreirense 1-0 at Parque Desportivo Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas to stay fourth in Liga Portugal, handing the hosts a third straight league defeat.
Fran Navarro turned in from close range after a set piece in the 24th minute for the decisive goal.
Moreirense threatened before the interval, as Nile John drew a low save from Lukas Hornicek on the stroke of half time.
After the restart, André Ferreira kept the game alive with a fine stop from Sikou Niakate's header (59.). Subsequent changes lifted the hosts, yet Ricardo Horta was denied from a tight angle by Ferreira (70.).
Braga controlled long spells with 60.2% possession and seven shots on target from 10 attempts. Moreirense produced 12 attempts but worked Hornicek only twice.
Next, Moreirense visit Famalicão. Braga host Real Betis in the Europa League.
