Michael Carrick has refused to rule out potential signings at Manchester United before Monday's deadline.
United are yet to make a new signing in the January transfer window, following a spend in excess of £200m in the summer. The Red Devils have been linked with adding a midfielder to their squad but there has been no public progress on any potential recruits.
Carrick, however, has refused to rule out the possibility. Speaking ahead of facing Fulham this weekend, the interim head coach suggested signings are possible.
"I think we're just working through it. Never say never, a lot can happen and situations can be thrown up. We're calm, we've shown what we're capable of doing. We will have to see what the next few days bring."
Carrick was also questioned on the future of Bruno Fernandes. TheManchester United captain will have just 12 months to run on his contract in the summer and has again been linked with the Saudi Pro League.
Discussing Fernandes's future, Carrick said his situation was 'on the agenda' but that the club's current focus is on ending the season successfully. United are fourth in thePremier League and chasing Champions League qualification.
"Let's not get too far ahead. We're working towards this game. That is on the agenda a little bit, but my main agenda is getting through the game on Sunday and Bruno is fully committed.
"Absolutely no issues at all. There are things further down the line to address towards the end of the season, but everything is positive at the moment. No reason to be anything otherwise."
Having started his interim tenure with back-to-back wins over Manchester City and Arsenal, Carrick has called for consistency from his team down the run-in.
"I think ultimately consistency is the key to success and in my eyes it is one of the most difficult things to achieve, to be good consistently.
"It takes so much, to be able to cope emotionally with the ups and downs of this game. That is what we are working towards. We have had a great couple of weeks, two good results, big games coming up and it is about keeping the mind in the right place."
