Kim does not play a key role under Kompany

Kim has lost his regular place at FC Bayern since the signing of Jonathan Tah. In central defense, Vincent Kompany clearly relies on the duo of Dayot Upamecano and Tah. The 28-year-old currently acts as first backup and has 790 competitive minutes this season – not a satisfactory situation for a player of his stature

According to Fichajes, this is precisely where Rosenior sees his opportunity. The Chelsea coach is said to be convinced that the time is right for a transfer move. In London, Kim is believed to have a leadership role, both athletically and mentally

Chelsea are said to believe that Kim is available for around €30 million – an amount that is considered to be in line with the market at Stamford Bridge. Bayern themselves transferred around €50 million to SSC Napoli in the summer of 2023. Kim’s current market value is €25 million

A winter departure is nevertheless considered unlikely. A few weeks ago, Sky reported that Bayern do not want to sell Kim this season. The player himself is also said to have ruled out a move in January. His contract in Munich runs until 2028

However, it remains to be seen what will happen in the summer. If nothing changes in Kim’s sporting situation, the transfer issue is likely to pick up speed again for the new season at the latest. Chelsea are apparently already positioning themselves for this.
