Quilindschy Hartman is attracting interest from Burnley, according to Voetbal International’s Martin Krabbendam.
Although the again newly-promoted Premier League club have not yet officially bid for the player, expectations are that this will happen soon. Feyenoord are reportedly open to Hartman’s departure, now that the left-back does not want to extend his contract, which expires next year.
If Burnley’s interest materialises, Hartman will have played his last match for Feyenoord against RKC Waalwijk. Robin van Persie granted him a public substitution at the time. Hartman himself said afterwards that he also took into account that his last match had been at De Kuip.
Since his comeback following his cruciate ligament injury, he had not managed to secure a starting spot, with Van Persie rotating the left-back position between himself, Hugo Bueno, and Gijs Smal. (“I think I am the best and should play”, said Hartman after the match against RKC Waalwijk.)
Before his injury, Chelsea were allegedly interested in Hartman, but now he may get a new chance at an adventure in the Premier League with Burnley. Scott Parker’s side were promoted alongside champion Leeds United. Fellow Dutchman Zian Flemming, who recently signed permanently from Millwall, also plays for Burnley.
