Sheffield United are closing in on securing a new deal to keep Patrick Bamford at the club until the end of the season.
Sheffield United are in advanced talks to extend star striker Patrick Bamford's contract at Bramall Lane, according to the latest reports on Friday morning.
The 32-year-old arrived at the Steel City club in mid-November on a short-term deal, and has become a hugely significant player for Chris Wilder's side, scoring five goals in 10 Championship outings.
However, Bamford is free to leave Sheffield United on January 11th if a new deal isn't sorted by then, and the Blades are working hard to ensure that doesn't happen.
It's now been revealed by Football Insider, that the Championship side are close to sealing an extension to the striker's contract, which will keep him at the club until the end of the season.
This will come as exciting news for Sheffield United supporters, who will be keen to see their talisman locked down for at least the rest of the 2025/26 campaign.

It's been a tough 12 months for Bamford after falling out of favour at Leeds United, and many wondered whether he would ever recapture his goalscoring form after leaving Elland Road with no goals to his name in his final season at the club.
However, the 32-year-old has firmly proved his doubters wrong, signing for Sheffield United in November, and going on to become a crucial player in the club's resurgence under Wilder.
With five goals in 10 matches to his name, Bamford is a valuable attacking outlet at Bramall Lane, but could be free to leave the club on January 11th, should an extension to his short-term contract not be agreed by then.
Fortunately, the latest update on Bamford's situation is a positive one, as Football Insider has revealed that the Blades are closing on on striking a new agreement, which would keep their star striker at the club until the end of the season.
Interest in Bamford likely won't be sparse given his excellent form for United, but it seems supporters can breathe a sigh of relief, as the Steel City side reportedly close in on locking him down for the immediate future.
It's also been revealed that Sheffield United will reassess the 32-year-old's situation in the summer when his new contract expires, which is likely dependent on how the rest of his season goes.
Wilder missed the summer transfer window having been appointed in September, but he utilized the free agent market well to add some serious quality to his squad, instead of waiting until the winter.
This proved to be a brilliant decision, as Bamford has been a revelation at Bramall Lane, whilst fellow free agent arrival Jairo Riedewald has already been locked down to a longer contract, having also impressed for the Blades.
Whilst the transfer window is now open, and the 57-year-old can spend money, you can't help but feel the best piece of business Sheffield United could do this month is tie down Bamford for the rest of the season, given his contributions since his arrival.
The striker has already proven his ability at Championship level, and how crucial he is to Wilder's side, so locking him down for the rest of the season is arguably better than any signing United can make this winter.
