Newcastle United have set an asking price of £100m for clubs interested in signing Sandro Tonali.
Tonali is open to exploring an exit from St James’ Park this summer after Newcastle failed to secure European football for next season. The Italian was subject of exploratory interest from Serie A and the Premier League in January, and interest remains high.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal are all considering the 26-year-old, though have been informed that Tonali will cost a seven-figure fee.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Newcastle want £100m to consider the sale of the Italy international this summer.
Eddie Howe’s side needed to make a substantial sale this summer to remain compliant with Premier League financial rules, but Anthony Gordon’s £69m exit for Barcelona has eased that situation. Newcastle are now in a better position to demand a premium for Tonali, as Premier League rivals make enquiries.
Manchester City are focused on pursuing ex-Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson, having had an opening bid turned down by Nottingham Forest. The Cityzens are readying an improved proposal, but are considering Tonali as an alternative.
Manchester United have agreed a £35m deal to sign Ederson from Atalanta, but want to add two more midfielders to their squad. The Red Devils are weighing up formal approaches for West Ham youngster Mateus Fernandes and Tonali.
