Anthony Gordon has travelled to Marseille for Newcastle’s Champions League clash.
The forward has been sidelined of late with a hip injury but is part of the squad which will take on the French club on Tuesday.
But Kieran Trippier remains out with a hamstring problem, and Howe says he is unsure how long the right-back will miss out for.
“Team news wise we are similar; we welcome back Dan Burn from suspension, Anthony Gordon and Emil Krafth have travelled with us, Kieran Trippier hasn’t,” he said.
Newcastle sit sixth in the Champions League standings at present having won three and drawn one of their games in the competition so far.
And Howe is confident that his squad can cope with the demands of the schedule having beaten Manchester City in an intense game on Saturday.
“I’ve said many times this season, trusting the squad is very important, we have some very good players who are desperate to play,” Howe said.
“We have the depth to play all these games, every game is different, the challenge is different, certain games suit certain players. We want to win the game.”
