Next candidate? Bayern could turn to £30m ‘fantastic’ Man Utd-target if they fail to sign Saibari | OneFootball

Bayern Munich are optimistic of securing the signature of Ismael Saibari, but as of now, no deal has been struck. 

The Bavarian giants are keen to add depth to the attacking wide areas, and they have Mika Godts on their list as well.

Manchester United are also reportedly interested in signing the Ajax attacker, who enjoyed a brilliant 2025-26 campaign.

Could Bayern move for Mika Godts?

At the moment, Bayern are focussed on getting Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, and the two clubs are in contact to reach an agreement.

Christian Falk told CFBayern Insider that Godts is one of the players who is on Bayern’s shortlist, but he is not their primary target.

The 20-year-old has been simply outstanding in 2025-26 campaign, scoring 17 goals and registering 14 assists in 40 games across all competitions.

However, Bayern are only likely to move for him if they fail to sign Saibari.

Falk said: “It is TRUE: Mika Godts is on Bayern Munich’s shortlist. He’s not as highly rated as Saibari; he’s considered more of an alternative candidate. I’m not sure why, as he looks fantastic, and he’s enjoyed a really strong season in the Dutch top-flight.

“He’s also not as expensive, with a price tag set at €35m [£30.2m] (despite a contract running until 2029). But Bayern Munich have decided to first go for Saibari. If this doesn’t work out, Godts can be the next candidate.”

Hope for Manchester United in signing Mika Godts?

The Red Devils are looking to bolster their midfield this summer, and they have already secured an agreement for Atalanta BC midfielder Ederson.

However, Michael Carrick is looking for more additions in midfield, and Man Utd are expected to spend big on another top-quality midfielder this summer.

They are also looking to add depth in their attacking areas, and have earmarked Godts as one of their top options in the summer.

The young attacker is available at a decent prize, and the door could be open for Man Utd if Bayern end up signing Saibari, which looks more likely.
