Neymar responded on social media after Santos were held 1-1 by Paraguayan side Recoleta in the Copa Sudamericana at Vila Belmiro on Tuesday, expressing disappointment and stressing the need to improve.

According to Globo.com, he took to social platforms following the match. He scored Santos’ goal and later argued with a supporter in the stadium’s social seats.

In his message he said winning, drawing and losing are part of football, and that the only response is to keep working to get better.

Speaking to reporters in the mixed zone, he explained he replied because of the way he was addressed. He accepted criticism of the team’s play but said he would not tolerate personal remarks.

He added that he gives everything for the club, noting that while fans were upset by the draw, the players felt the same.
