Neymar’s recovery is progressing within Brazil’s plan, and the forward has begun work in the United States as the squad prepare for the next stage of the World Cup, continuing intensive treatment on his right calf injury. According to Diario Do Peixe, he started sessions on Tuesday the second.
On Wednesday the third he received a positive and optimistic assessment, with daily monitoring showing a better than expected response for this stage. Even so, the staff remain cautious and will complete every step before allowing more intense activity.
At CT Columbia Park he is following the same programme used at Granja Comary, including two daily gym sessions with load control and strengthening, plus physiotherapy. Outside those windows he also uses a compression boot.
He undergoes daily clinical checks to track progress, and medical guidance is that any advance must stay within set parameters to avoid relapse. He suffered a grade two right calf injury in Santos’ match with Coritiba in the Brasileiro, then reported on 27th when fresh tests confirmed the diagnosis and the CBF protocol began.
He is likely to miss the friendly against Egypt on the sixth. The expectation is that the following week he begins a pitch based transition, then moves to ball work and integrated training.
The most optimistic projection has him available for Brazil’s World Cup opener against Morocco on 13th. A more conservative scenario points to a return in the second group game against Haiti on 18th.
Although considered relatively minor, calf injuries demand special care because the muscle group is heavily used in matches, and any early overload could aggravate the issue.
