Neymar has posted a message of support to Rodrygo after the Real Madrid attacking midfielder suffered a serious right knee injury that will rule him out of the 2026 World Cup. The Santos number 10 shared the note on Instagram.

Rodrygo, 25, was injured against Getafe in the Spanish league on Monday. He came on nine minutes into the second half, then went down in pain minutes later, yet remained on the pitch until full time.

He has ruptured the meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Typical recovery for such injuries ranges from six months to one year.

In his post, Neymar called it one of the saddest days for him and said the news replayed his own ordeal in his mind, including the fear and anguish of that injury. He urged Rodrygo to look after his mental wellbeing and to keep loved ones close.

Neymar also recalled the support Rodrygo gave him when a serious left knee injury kept him out for almost a year. He expressed faith and confidence that Rodrygo will return strongly and pledged to be there for him.
