Neymar to miss Santos trip to Cruzeiro, Cuca confirms | OneFootball

Neymar will not be available for Santos against Cruzeiro on Sunday in the eighth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

Cuca, presented on Friday, confirmed the No 10’s absence for the match at Mineirão in Belo Horizonte, according to Globo.com.

He is being rested again for workload management as he builds fitness. The same approach was taken against Mirassol, when he did not travel despite Carlo Ancelotti being in attendance.

Earlier this week, he was also left out of Brazil’s squad for friendlies against France on 26 and Croatia on 31.

Without Neymar, Thaciano and Benjamín Rollheiser are likely to come into the side. Gabigol is also unavailable, as he belongs to Cruzeiro and is on loan to Santos.

A probable Santos XI features Gabriel Brazão in goal, Igor Vinicius, Lucas Verissimo, Luan Peres and Escobar in defence, Oliva, Gabriel Bontempo and Rollheiser in midfield, and Barreal, Thaciano and Rony in attack.
