This past year saw Nick Woltemade at last get regular Bundesliga football and impressed so much. The young striker starting 22 matches in all competitions for Stuttgart across 2024/25 and scoring 17 goals, including one in the final as they lifted the German cup.

Big Nick also seeing his club form propel him to now becoming a regular for the senior Germany side, as well as having finished top scorer in the Under 21 Euros tournament as Germany lost in the final to England. Both Tino Livramento and Nick Woltemade named in the official UEFA team of the tournament.

Then to cap it all, Nick Woltemade getting a massive move to Newcastle United and after 12 starts so far, has already scored six goals and helped United with his goals to win matches in the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup.

Nick Woltemade is away with Germany at the moment and wins against Luxembourg and Slovakia would guarantee that the Newcastle United striker and his national teammates will be going to the 2026 World Cup finals.

Nick Woltemade telling RTL/n-tv/sport.de how he is now feeling after what’s happened this past year:

“It has been a very crazy year.

“I have experienced so much.

“Moments I never could have imagined before.

“It is sometimes hard to grasp.

“A year like this isn’t something you take for granted.

“I’m very grateful for it and want to keep working for such amazing moments.”

Whilst the Newcastle United star has hit the ground running after his move to England, with six goals so far, Florian Wirtz hasn’t managed a single goal or assist in the Premier League for Liverpool.

A disastrous start to his time at Anfield, after Liverpool set a new Premier League record when agreeing a £116m deal to buy him this summer, before then smashing their own newly created Premier League record only weeks later, when agreeing a £130m deal for that bloke who I can’t quite remember the name of…I do know though that he has only scored one goal in over six months for club and country and that was against second tier Southampton.

Liverpool struggling, having lost seven of their last ten matches.

Anyway, a typically modest Nick Woltemade has played down his Newcastle United start and tried to stick up for hi international colleague Florian Wirtz…

“For every player, adjusting is not easy.

“But Florian Wirtz is doing very well [at Liverpool].

“On paper, you might not see the goals [from Florian Wirtz].

But if you compare my games with his, he is much more involved in play.
