Ahead of an early reunion with his parent club tomorrow, Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson’s agent has made the claim that his client will never be returning to London. Jackson should become a permanent Bayern Munich signing via an easily achievable purchase clause in his Bundesliga loan contract. Details of the purchase clause are beginning to leak.
Bayern honorary President Uli Hoeneß – whilst speaking on Doppelpass – let slip that Jackson’s automatic €65m purchase clause will be activated if the 24-year-old reaches 40 overall Bayern appearances. The Münchener Tageszeitung tabloid has since reported that the 40 appearances require only 45 minutes or less of action from Jackson.
Jackson’s agent Diomansy Kamara made the claims on the television program “Talents D’Afrique” on Canal+. Kamara declared the 22-times-capped Senegalese international’s Chelsea career to be effectively over. Transfermarkt.de reported on Kamara’s claims in an article published on its website Tuesday.
“It was initially a loan without an obligation to buy,” Kamara said. “Then we ratcheted up the pressure a bit and said that he didn’t want to return to Chelsea. And voilà: the clubs reached an agreement. The negotiations were a big ‘ego war’ between the two clubs. Nico’s job is to make 40 appearances. He can also score 15 goals [for the obligatory purchase clause to take effect]. There’s no way he’s going back to Chelsea.”
