Nicole, Zanotti and Érika hail Corinthians’ Copa do Brasil win: “Well deserved”

The Corinthians' Brabas made the most of the packed Neo Química Arena and maintained their dominance in women's football. After the final whistle, goalkeeper Nicole, midfielder Gabi Zanotti, and defender Érika spoke about the victory, joked, and praised the season.

“Playing a final inside the packed Neo Química Arena is always a huge pleasure. Every time I enter and pass through this tunnel, I get goosebumps, feel butterflies in my stomach, it's an inexplicable sensation. I am very happy, I think it comes to crown the good work we did during the season. We had some ups and downs, but we were always very consistent in our goal. So it comes to crown a good job done during the season.“, commented Nicole, Timão's goalkeeper in the title campaign.

“It's very special, we don't get tired, we go to the gym every day to lift here. There's still a lot to lift, working a lot on the upper body for that, everything's fine“, joked Gabi Zanotti, one of the key players in the victory.

Even with the title, the midfielder continued to push for improvements in the sport. “Surely, each year more competitive, teams investing more, not only in structural parts but also in the squad, strengthening, knowing the importance, that it's not just 11, 15 players, that you need a larger squad to support the whole season, and what I always demand from people involved in federations and confederations is for us to be able to develop a better calendar“, completed the number 10.

Another highlight was Érika, a defender who scored in the knockout stage and was important in Timão's defensive phase during the championship. She talked about being 'used to' winning titles and dismissed the possibility of being satisfied.

“It's not common, man. This is out of this world, dude. There's no way. Each title is different, each victory is different, each game is different. And we have to understand that, you know? People say, like you said, joking because… Oh, are you used to this? Used to nothing, man. I don't want to get used to just these little things. No, I like this. I want there to be more, but I can't get comfortable”, said the defender.
