There is no injury worry for Inter Milan and France striker despite being rested for a Nations League clash with Israel.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the 27-year-old should be available as usual for Les Bleus’ upcoming match against Belgium.

Inter and France have both been keeping an eye on Thuram’s condition over the last few days.

The Frenchman picked up a bit of an injury during Inter’s Serie A clash with Torino last weekend.

This was the result of a heavy challenge by Granata defender Guillermo Maripan. That tackle saw the Chilean receive a straight red card.

Maripan’s studs made contact with Thuram’s ankle, causing some pain for the Inter striker.

This certainly did not prevent Thuram from leaving his mark on the match. He scored a match-winning hattrick, with all three of his goals coming after Maripan’s challenge.

But during the second half, the Frenchman asked to be substituted off.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi confirmed that this was because of some pain that the player was continuing to feel after the challenge in the first half.

No Injury Worry For Inter Milan & France Striker Marcus Thuram

Inter’s medical staff had a look at Thuram after Saturday’s match.

Then, it was time for the 27-year-old to join up with the France squad for the international break. Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps decided to call him up.

The France medical staff also examined Thuram.

As with the Inter staff, they did not find that the striker had an injury despite feeling some discomfort.

However, Deschamps decided not to start Thuram in yesterday’s Nations League match against Israel.

The Inter striker also did not come off the bench.

This perhaps caused some worries that Thuram’s omission could have been because he is suffering an injury.

But according to Sky, the decision to rest Thuram was purely precautionary.

Therefore, the broadcaster reports, there is not reason why the Inter striker cannot play against Belgium in France’s second Nations League match of the break.
