The second-half cooling break in France v Iraq was scrapped after a lengthy weather stoppage at the World Cup. According to L'Équipe, the match had been halted for more than two hours because of a risk of thunderstorms.

Although mid-half cooling breaks have been standard across this tournament, the pause was removed for the second period following the extended interruption after half-time on Monday.
