Noa Lang has offered an update on the nasty thumb injury suffered when he crashed into an advertising board during Galatasaray’s 4-0 defeat at Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16 second leg last week.
"It is getting better," he said. "I tried to grab the advertising board and it was quite sharp at the back. My finger was cut clean, the tip came off. It has been stitched back on and I still have it all. The doctor thinks I will be fine, so everything is okay," he told Ziggo Sport.
The 26-year-old Dutchman writhed in pain at Anfield before being carried off on a stretcher with his hand covered in blood. He underwent surgery soon after the incident.
"I am struggling to play PlayStation and to go to the toilet as well. I am right-handed, that makes things complicated."
He reappeared on Tuesday with a heavy bandage on his right hand during training with the Netherlands, having been called up for friendlies against Norway and Ecuador.
