Noah Nartey is making a flying start at Lyon, with two goals in four outings, capped by a composed finish in the 2-0 win over Nice.
According to L'Équipe, the 20-year-old joined from Bröndby for €7.5m. He had already decided the 1 February victory over Lille.
He started quietly in Paulo Fonseca’s adjusted 3-4-2-1 alongside Corentin Tolisso, then on 35 minutes slipped in Tyler Morton, whose central strike was blocked by Dante. He was involved in the move before the opener in first-half stoppage time, with Pavel Sulc unable to convert his cross as Maxime Dupé intervened.
Nartey then pounced on a Pavel Sulc cut-back after Charles Vanhoutte’s error, showing calm by feinting past two defenders before beating Dupé. He touched four balls in the box and scored with his only attempt.
The Dane said he was delighted, credited Sulc’s pass and explained he expected a block, made a small clever movement and finished.
Fonseca praised his technique, calm decision-making under pressure and swift integration. He noted they might have waited to play him, but injuries accelerated his chance, and said what he has done so far is magnificent.
In the process, he became the youngest player to score in each of his first two Ligue 1 home outings for Lyon, at 20 years and 133 days.
